Two men were walking in the city. The old man considered himself Somebody. The young man thought of himself as Nobody really. They bumped into each other carelessly in the crosswalk at 46th and 6th Avenue. Nobody was watching but unfortunately Somebody was simply not paying attention. Nobody recognized Somebody as Somebody he knew but could not recall the why or when, the where or who. Somebody recognized Nobody in his typical way. It did not matter what the situation was, he was Somebody who would not say a word to anybody who could be Anybody. They paused and looked at each other for a moment. Nobody said, “Sorry.” and they both walked on.
